David B. Echeverry is an attorney licensed in the state of Minnesota and the country of Colombia. Mr. Echeverry joined Kurzban, Kurzban, Weinger, Tetzeli and Pratt P.A., in May 2012. He has practiced immigration law since 2009.
As an immigration attorney, David has represented a substantial number of aliens before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and U.S. Embassies abroad.
David’s experience includes handling complex cases for individual clients and families. This includes applications for adjustment of status and consular process, naturalization, waivers for grounds of inadmissibility, and appeals before USCIS; motion practice, cancelation of removal, NACARA, asylum and withholding of removal applications, and bond determination before EOIR courts in Miami, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, Atlanta, New York City, Charlotte, and Minneapolis. He has provided legal representation before ICE, including stays of deportation and requests for prosecutorial discretion, and has prepared successful appeals and motions to reopen before the BIA.
In addition, Mr. Echeverry’s experience includes work as a judicial intern at the Minnesota Tax Court. Moreover, David worked as a Community and Research fellow at the Chicano Latino Affairs Council in Minnesota, a state created agency with the mission of advising the Governor and the Minnesota Legislature in matters related to the Latino community in the state.
Mr. Echeverry received his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from Hamline University School of Law in 2009 and 2007, respectively. In 2002 David received his law degree from Universidad Libre – Seccional Pereira, Colombia.
