Serk H. Chang was born on February 26, 1964 in Seoul, Korea. He graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with majors in sociology and philosophy. He completed his law degree at the Rutgers University School of Law at Newark in 2005.
During law school, Serk worked for a legal department of a global shipping company in the areas of admiralty and transportation laws. Immediately thereafter, Serk worked for the Law Firm of Nowell, Amoroso, Klein, Bierman, P.C. in Hackensack, New Jersey as a law clerk. Serk engaged in extensive case research and prepared legal opinions and briefs on a variety of complex civil matters including breach of contract cases, zoning cases, school cases, and summary judgment motions.
In 2005, upon being admitted as an attorney at law, Serk became an associate at the Law Firm of Nowell, Amoroso, Klein, Bierman, P.C. and continued to work on commercial litigation matters. In 2006, Serk worked for the law firm of Yohan Park, P.C. in Flushing, New York where he engaged in general practice of law, including litigation cases, landlord-tenant cases, collection cases, criminal cases, marital cases, immigration cases, and transactional matters. In October, 2006 Serk formed the Law Office of Serk H. Chang. Since then, Serk has built up a strong clientele with his practice in general areas of law, including litigation cases, landlord-tenant cases, collection cases, business transactions, realty transactions, and criminal cases.
Serk is fluent in Korean and as a result, he has attracted a large number of clients who speak Korean as their first language.
