Laurel joined RHRC as an associate attorney in 2011, bringing with her extensive knowledge of litigation procedure and consumer protection matters. A Stanford and Santa Clara Law graduate, Laurel spent several years prior to law school working at a prominent plaintiff's class action firm, focusing on nationwide class actions in the areas of toxic tort, Ponzi schemes, predatory lending, litigation under the False Claims Act, wage and hour actions, Consumer Legal Remedies Act cases, and large-scale business and financial fraud cases. Laurel's significant litigation experience provides her with a keen sense of strategy and aggressive focus in pushing cases to resolution.
During law school, Laurel clerked for the Honorable William Monahan, Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, and excelled in honors moot court competitions, winning several awards for her excellence as an oral advocate.
While at Stanford, Laurel was a nationally ranked water polo player and team captain and made four consecutive appearances in the NCAA tournament, two in the championship game. Recognized by the University for her excellence in class leadership and achievements while at Stanford, Laurel was inducted into the Cardinal Class Core at the completion of her Stanford tenure and was named a 2006 Stanford Scholar Athlete upon graduation as well.
Laurel's practice focuses exclusively on business and real estate litigation. Her experience at RHRC includes representing commercial developers, businesses, buyers and sellers, brokers and agents, and parties to complex lease transactions.
