Cayo, Richard J.

Terry C. Cavanaugh joined Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin as a shareholder in the Health Care Department in 2010. With more than 30 years of litigation experience, he focuses his practice on the defense of professionals in medical and health care malpractice claims. Terry will continue to support other matters in associated areas of litigation including civil rights, general liability, product liability, insurance coverage issues, liquor liability and commercial litigation.

Terry frequently lecturers on trial tactics and the defense of medical claims and has written articles of interest to physicians, lawyers, nurses and administrators in the health care field.  In 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010, he was selected in a survey of his peers as a Pennsylvania "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics magazine.  Terry has been AV rated by the Martindale-Hubbell peer review rating system.   

He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and is admitted to practice before all of the state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is also a member of various Bar Associations, the Defense Research Institute and affiliated sections of these professional organizations devoted to trial work and malpractice claims.

Terry graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1969 with a B.A. in English and Political Science and he received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972.
