Cavellier, Gerald P.

Elisabeth Hessler Cavanagh is an associate in the Private Client Services Department in the firm's Stamford office. She joined Wiggin and Dana in September 2008. Her practice includes the drafting of wills, life insurance trusts, and grantor retained annuity trusts. Mrs. Cavanagh also has experience with establishing charitable entities and charitable giving.

She recently co-authored the article, The Lasting Effect of Star Power, an examination of Marilyn Monroe's postmortem right of publicity, in the New York Law Journal. Mrs. Cavanagh's article on the impact of a Florida bar ethics opinion on New York trusts and estates practitioners appeared in the New York State Bar Association Summer 2004 issues of the Trusts and Estates Law Section Newsletter.

Prior to joining Wiggin and Dana, Mrs. Cavanagh was an associate with Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, P.C. in New York. She is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law with a LL.M. in Estate Planning and earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, where she served on the executive board of the Suffolk Public Interest Law Group. She graduated with a B.A. with high distinction from the University of Rhode Island. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York.
