Having 15 years dedicated to litigating patent disputes, Phil brings an experienced business and legal perspective to each patent case and achieves consistent positive results. A veteran of over a hundred patent battles in various forums, Phil has developed trial and business strategies for some of the most complex patent disputes involving multiple patents, complex technologies, and stakes exceeding one hundred million.

Phil brings technical credibility and experience to patent disputes. He graduated summa cum laude in physics, completed substantial graduate school course work in electrical engineering, and worked as an engineer before passing the Patent bar. Technologies in which Phil has handled patent disputes cover a wide range of the electrical, software, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and optical arts.

In addition to handling patent disputes, Phil works with leading technology companies in developing business plans that better leverage their patent portfolios, conducting patent infringement and validity studies, negotiating patent licenses, and counseling on patent issues related to mergers and acquisitions.

Before turning 40, Phil was twice listed as a "Rising Star" in The Minnesota Journal of Law & Politics. He is featured in the 2001-2002 and 2003-2004 editions of The Best Lawyers in America and listed as a Super Lawyer 2003 in The Minnesota Journal of Law & Politics magazine.
