Hilary F. Casper is an associate at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara and Einiger, LLP. She was previously a law clerk with Abrams Fensterman since October 2010.
Ms. Casper’s practice is primarily focused on matrimonial and family law. She counsels clients at all stages of the divorce process and represents them in complex matrimonial and family law litigation including contested custody, support and visitation matters in the Supreme and Family Courts of Long Island and New York City. Ms. Casper also represents clients in the drafting and negotiation of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Ms. Casper has experience at both the trial and appellate levels.
Ms. Casper speaks in New York and around the county at various conferences, most recently lecturing on the use of mental health consultants in child custody cases, family law education and ethics for matrimonial attorneys. She also received attribution for her contributions to the book, Be a Planner, Not a Gambler: What you Need to Do and Prepare for the Elder Years, and numerous articles that are published in professional journals including the New York State Bar Journal, the Family Court Review, the New York Law Journal, the New Jersey Law Journal and the Nassau Lawyer.
Prior to joining Abrams Fensterman, Ms. Casper clerked for a Family Court Judge at the Nassau County Family Court, and served as a mediator in custody disputes and PINS (Persons in Need of Supervision) diversion cases at Hofstra’s Mediation Clinic.
Ms. Casper is a New York State Court Certified Mediator. She is also an active member of many professional and civic organizations, including the Association for Family and Conciliation Courts, the Nassau County Bar Association, Matrimonial Law Committee, and the Women’s Bar Association of Nassau County. In addition, Ms. Casper serves as a coach to a local high school’s mock trial program.
Ms. Casper received her J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law. She was an Editor of the Hofstra Law Review, a Child and Family Advocacy Fellow, and recipient of the Pro Bono Service Award of Excellence and the Citation of Excellence in Family Law.
