Roger R. Carter is the founding and managing partner of the Carter Law Firm. Mr. Carter attended Tufts University, where he obtained his B.A. in Political Science in 1984. While attending Tufts, he also studied at The London School of Economics and worked for British Parliament as a Research Assistant to George Robertson, a Member specializing in Foreign Affairs. In 1987, Mr. Carter obtained his law degree from William and Mary, the first law school established in the United States. He also attended Exeter University, specializing in courses emphasizing European Community Law. Mr. Carter obtained a Masters Degree in International Business and Taxation (L.L.M.) in 1988, attending courses at Salzburg University. Thereafter, and prior to commencing his career in the United States, Mr. Carter worked at one of the largest and most reputable law firms in Spain.
In 1989, Mr. Carter was admitted to the State Bar of California and the District of Columbia Bar. After becoming an active member of the bar, he obtained extensive experience in business litigation, working for premier defense firms for the first seven years of his practice. Following that, Mr. Carter founded his own firm to represent employees who have been the victim of a wrongful termination, suffered discrimination or harassment in the workplace, or have had overtime pay improperly withheld. His main areas of practice include labor law issues, employee rights, and wage and hour class actions.
Having practiced for over twenty years, and having worked for both defendants and plaintiffs, Mr. Carter possesses the unique experience, reputation, and ability to successfully represent individuals and multiple plaintiffs. His unique experiences have helped him hone his negotiation and advocacy skills, resulting in his active participation in hundreds of employment-related cases over his twenty plus years of practice. Within the last four years alone, the firm's total recoveries exceed $100,000,000.
