Jim Carroll brings a varied background to the practice of law. As a Sergeant in the US Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and as a Drill Sergeant in the Army Reserves, he developed discipline, leadership skills, and an understanding of people, all of which have been key to his success in business.
His business experience, in turn, as well as his background as an Accounting major at Sonoma State, help him understand complex financial matters in bankruptcy and family law. And owning and operating small businesses for years brought him an understanding of the challenges business people face.
While studying at Empire College School of Law, Jim worked as a paralegal, learning the law’s practical side as well as its theoretical side. He also volunteered at Legal Aid, learning family law first hand and helping low-income individuals assert their rights.
The common thread running through Jim’s seemingly diverse achievements is service to others. Whether serving his country in its Armed Services, serving customers in business, or serving clients as an attorney, Jim brings the same dedication and giving spirit.
In his spare time, Jim coaches the Little League baseball team one of his children plays on, and enjoys playing golf and exploring the wine country with his wife.
