Chris Carron is an Associate in the firm's Environmental and Natural Resources section. His practice covers a wide variety of environmental, administrative, and regulatory issues, including litigating cases under federal and state environmental statutes and representing clients before federal and state agencies. Chris counsels and represents clients on various permitting and compliance issues under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). He also counsels clients regarding Natural Resource Damage claims under the CERCLA and the Oil Pollution Act.
Chris has represented clients before the Environmental Protection Agency on CERCLA and RCRA enforcement actions and before the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) and Department of Marine Resources on a variety of permitting and compliance matters. He is currently serving as outside counsel to MDEQ for the State of Mississippi's Natural Resource Damage Assessment resulting from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
In addition to his environmental practice, Chris represents a number of private and governmental clients in general legal matters. Through various projects involving state government and regulatory entities, Chris has developed expertise in various issues involving government contracts, including bid and procurement law. His practice also includes the representation of both landords and tenants in the preparation and negotiation of retail, office and industrial leases and subleases.
