Carr, Jay David

D. Scott Carlile  is a 1990 graduate of Marshall High School.  After graduation, Scott attended Baylor University where he earned a degree with majors in Finance and Entrepreneurship.  After graduating from Baylor, Scott attended St. Mary's University School of law in San Antonio where he earned his law degree in 2 and ½ years.  During his studies at St. Mary's, Scott was selected to intern for Justice Tom Rickhoff and Justice Sara Duncan of the Fourth Court of Appeals.  After graduating and passing the Texas Bar Exam, Scott returned to his hometown and joined his father's law firm as an associate attorney.  A year later he became a full partner in The Carlile Law Firm, LLP.

During his career Scott has served as lead counsel in numerous trials obtaining  significant jury awards in cases involving automobile accidents, environmental contamination, and occupational exposure to silica and asbestos.  Scott has also been successful in appeals to Texas Appellate Courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  Scott is admitted to practice law in all Texas state courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  During his legal career Scott has represented over 1,000 asbestos exposure victims; over 200 offshore workers, over 1,000 workers and landowners injured by dangerous chemicals and environmental contamination; and victims of medical negligence, auto and tucking accidents, defective products, dangerous prescription drugs, and wrongful death.

Scott currently is partners with his younger brother, Casey Q. Carlile.  Together Scott , Casey, and their dedicated staff fight to protect the rights of working families on a daily basis.   Scott is also very involved in his community.  He is member of First United Methodist Church where he has served in numerous capacities.  Scott has also served on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls  Club of the Big Pines, The Michelson Museum of Art, and First United Methodist Children's Day School.  Scott is a member of the East Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Harrison County Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice, and Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Bar Association.  Scott has been married to his wife, Tracy for over 12 years and together they have two beautiful boys - Gavin and Ian.  Scott enjoys coaching his boys in soccer and baseball.  In his spare time Scott enjoys playing golf, watching sports, traveling, cooking out with friends, growing a backyard garden, and spending quality time Tracy and his boys.
