Larry Cannon practices in the areas of corporate and securities laws. He has experience with initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, spin-offs, split-offs, high-yield and investment-grade debt offerings, tender offers, and mergers and acquisitions. Larry routinely counsels clients on corporate governance matters and public reporting and disclosure obligations. Representative clients in recent public matters include Amerisafe, BenefitMall, Harman International Industries, HQ Global Workplaces, Idearc, Macy's, United States Trust Company of New York, and Quicksilver Resources.
Larry was previously an associate in the corporate practice at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, Illinois. In addition, he recently worked as vice president, associate general counsel, and corporate secretary at Idearc, which was spun-off from Verizon Communications in November 2006, where he advised the company and its board of directors on securities and corporate governance matters. Larry is a certified public accountant (licensed in Texas from September 1991 through February 2001) and, prior to law school graduation, worked for Ernst & Young.
Larry is a member of the American Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, and the Dallas Bar Association.
