Jack Cannon concentrates his practice in personal injury and workers' compensation cases. Jack has 4 multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements in the last 4 years totaling over $40m, including a record $23.75 million verdict in Will County. He has successfully tried over 100 cases at the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission and settled hundreds more in addition to several trials and settlements in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Mr. Cannon was recently invited to address the Illinois Senate and House sub-committees on pending Workers’ Compensation legislation. He has lectured extensively throughout the country on issues regarding personal injury, particularly trucking accidents and to various labor union groups regarding their rights under the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act and other litigation issues. He spent several years in the construction industry prior to receiving his law degree and has applied this experience and understanding to his representation of injured workers.
Mr. Cannon has authored numerous articles for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association pertaining to workers' compensation and is a frequent contributor to the firm's monthly column in The Irish American News. Most recently, he received an award from the Jury Verdict Reporter for receiving the largest verdict in Will County; a case involving a fatal trucking accident where the jury awarded over $23 million.
Mr. Cannon was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Dublin, Ireland. He returned to the United States and received his B.A. from Loyola University in 1987 and his law degree from the John Marshall Law School in 1993.
He is past president of the Viking Athletic Association and was inducted into the Loyola University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1992. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA), the Illinois State Bar Association and was recently re-elected to the Board of Directors of the Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association.
