Angela M. Cancio, Esq., concentrates in the areas of Personal Injury, Criminal Law, and Family Law. She has been practicing law for over 20 years in the North Florida area. She received her law degree from Thomas Cooley Law School in Michigan, a Masters in Music Education from Florida International University, and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from Florida Atlantic University. By appointments of the Governor, Ms. Cancio serves as Chairperson of the Third Circuit, Judicial Nominating Commission and as Chairperson of the Legal Advocacy Council. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association, Third Circuit Florida Bar Association, and the Criminal and Family Law Sections of the Florida Bar Association. Ms. Cancio is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida, United States Court for the Middle District of Florida, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Cancio is also fluent in Spanish.
Ms. Cancio has been in private practice since 1991. She previously worked with the Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services from 1986-1989. Concentrating extensively in child support laws, she published the Child Support Enforcement Manual for the Florida Bar Association. She also served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General’s Civil Rights Section in Florida. Having worked as a teacher for several years before entering the law profession, she dedicates much time working in pro-bono legal education projects with children in the community.
