Cannon, David

Elizabeth Canizares is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Investigations and Criminal Litigation Practice Group. She joined the firm in 2007.

Practice

Ms. Canizares’s practice focuses on representing clients in connection with Congressional and government investigations. Ms. Canizares counsels individuals invited to testify before Congress. She also provides advice and support to corporate clients under investigation by the US Government regarding compliance with federal laws, including matters related to the financial crisis and the Deepwater Horizon incident.

Past Experience

While in law school, Ms. Canizares completed legal internships with the US Department of State, Bureau of International Organization Affairs; the US Agency for International Development, Office of the General Counsel; the US Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on Terrorism, Technology and Homeland Security; and the US Department of Justice, Commercial Litigation Division.
