Practice

Mr. Callahan has worked on a wide range of litigation matters since joining the firm. His practice now focuses primarily on Intellectual Property litigation. Over the past nine years, Mr. Callahan's representations have touched on a variety of technologies, including photolithography, computer microarchitecture, semiconductor design, minimally invasive tissue removal devices, membrane filtration, digital scanning, ultraviolet radiation used to treat drinking water, as well as trade dress cases involving commercial power products.

Mr. Callahan has also managed major litigations, overseeing both large and small case teams from the filing of (or answer to) a complaint through discovery, favorable settlement, and/or trial. As an active member of several trial teams, Mr. Callahan has helped clients achieve favorable verdicts in multiple jurisdictions and before the United States International Trade Commission. He has drafted numerous successful pretrial motions (including summary judgment motions, motions to compel, and motions in limine) and has taken the lead role in drafting appellate briefs. In addition, he has extensive experience taking and defending depositions of both fact and expert witnesses.

In 2006-2007, Mr. Callahan served as a Special Assistant District Attorney for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In his role as an ADA, he tried a half dozen cases to verdict on charges ranging from larceny/fraud to driving under the influence. In addition, he argued numerous pretrial motions to dismiss, motions to suppress, discovery motions, and motions in limine.

Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Mr. Callahan served as a law clerk to the Honorable Alfred V. Covello, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut. In 2002-2003, Mr. Callahan clerked for the Honorable Thomas J. Meskill of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Before attending law school, Mr. Callahan spent two years as a paralegal at the law firm of Hare and Chaffin.
