Marc Callahan's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on class action defense and unfair business practices, false advertising, and consumer fraud and protection claims. Marc has extensive experience in litigating claims in trial and appellate courts under the Unfair Competition Law, the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Credit Repair Organizations Act. He also has extensive experience in partnership and real estate disputes.
Marc currently represents Experian Information Solutions in a lawsuit against LifeLock alleging that LifeLock engages in unfair business practices and false advertising. He recently represented Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless in a putative consumer class action, obtaining a dismissal on the pleadings and a published opinion limiting the scope of plaintiff standing to pursue an unfair competition lawsuit (Peterson v. Cellco Partnership, 164 Cal. App. 4th 1583 (2008)). Marc represented ConsumerInfo.com in a putative consumer class action in which a favorable individual settlement was obtained after class certification was denied. He also represented Experian Information Solutions in an action alleging violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act in which summary judgment was obtained.
Marc is a member of the board of directors and a founding fellow of the Society of Fellows of the Orange County Bar Foundation. He is also the group leader for Civil Procedure and Evidence Group II for the Orange County Bar Association's Resolution Committee and has served as a delegate in the Conference of Delegates of the California Bar Association.
