Eileen Bye qualified as a solicitor at Winstanley Burgess Solicitors in 1994. Eileen went on to become a partner at Luqmani Thompson & Partners. She left the firm for a brief period to work as an Inspector for Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Prisons, returning to the firm in 2009, becoming partner in May 2011. Eileen has also worked at the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) and helped establish the charity Bail for Immigration Detainees (BID).

The breadth and depth of her experience have given Eileen an encyclopedic knowledge of numerous legal disciplines including, public law, prison law, welfare benefits and immigration.

Eileen represents clients in a diverse range of immigration and asylum matters. Her caseload primarily involves public law challenges and judicial review proceedings for clients who are, or have been, detained. However, her broad knowledge and experience allows her to take on difficult and high value public law cases not related to immigration or detention issues. The Legal Services Commission has awarded Eileen Supervisor status in the area of Prison Law.
