Shelli Bushman has a wide variety of civil litigation experience, including complex contract disputes, large class actions, securities fraud investigations and cases, and product liability matters. She has experience with all phases of civil litigation, including pretrial investigations, developing case strategy, discovery, motions practice, trial (both jury and bench), and appeals. Shelli has taken numerous depositions, and, at trial, she conducted the cross-examination of a significant opposing witness. She also recently argued and won a case in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, Shelli practices in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and she currently represents Chevron U.S.A. in a contract dispute against the federal government before that court.
Shelli also has an antitrust litigation practice. She represents a subsidiary of Parker Hannifin Corporation in several civil cases as well as an investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice regarding allegations of bid rigging, price-fixing, and market allocation in the marine oil and gas industry. She has experience advising clients engaged in transactions facing potential antitrust litigation from the Federal Trade Commission.
Shelli has demonstrated experience in electronic discovery issues, and she is a member of Jones Day's e-discovery team. She has composed e-discovery training manuals and conducts e-discovery training programs for the Firm's associates.
As part of her pro bono practice, Shelli assisted in obtaining a favorable settlement for a wrongfully evicted tenant following court-ordered mediation in D.C. Superior Court.
