Steven M. Bush graduated from Indiana State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He then attended the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis and received his J.D. degree in January of 1976. During law school, and for a short period of time thereafter, he was employed at the Indiana Judicial Center as Assistant Director of Judicial Affairs, and in that capacity served as the liaison for the Indiana Judges Association with the Indiana General Assembly. Mr. Bush subsequently served as the New Castle city attorney and was employed in a private firm in the city of New Castle.
Also, Mr. Bush practiced in Dearborn County, Indiana, for approximately fifteen (15) years before moving to Valparaiso, Indiana and establishing the partnership of Millbranth & Bush.
Mr. Bush is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Porter County Bar Association, and Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. He has served as delegate from Porter County to the House of Delegates of the Indiana State Bar for approximately five (5) years. Mr. Bush also is a member of the Family Law Section of the Indiana State Bar. He is admitted to practice before both the Northern and Southern Districts of the United States District Courts in the State of Indiana.
Mr. Bush concentrates his practice in family law, including dissolution, separations, child custody, support, paternity, parenting time, and related matters, along with a practice in criminal law. He is also a registered family law mediator.
Mr. Bush and his partner, Russell D. Millbranth, founded the partnership in April of 1994 and continue to practice under the name of Millbranth & Bush, Attorneys and Counselors at Law, 2601 Chicago Street, Unit B, Valparaiso, Indiana.
