A native of Iowa, Mr. Buster has the dubious distinction of being the oldest of the firm's partners, having entered law later in life. Mr. Buster's first career was as a scientist. With a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, and a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Louisville, Mr. Buster worked in the Department of Medicine at the University of Virginia as a medical research scientist, publishing numerous medical research articles and presenting numerous papers at international conferences. Building on the strong analytical and communication skills developed in his first career, Mr. Buster entered the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. During his matriculation at the Columbus School of law, he represented clients in the school's legal clinic and as an intern with the City of Alexandria's Public Defender's Office.
Mr. Buster graduated from law school cum laude and took a position as an Assistant Public Defender with the Fairfax County Public Defender's Office. After four years with the Public Defender's Office, Mr. Buster moved to private practice.
During his time in the public and private sector, Mr. Buster has dedicated himself to zealous and effective representation of thousands of individuals charged with traffic offenses and criminal offenses, including robbery, rape and murder.
