Jim Burn, a 1985 graduate of Duquesne University, earned his J.D. from the University of Dayton in 1988. In law school, Jim served as President of the Student Bar Association and as President of the law fraternity, Phi Delta Phi, dedicated to promoting the ethical practice of law. With over 20 years experience in the areas of Workers’ Compensation and Social Security Disability, Jim has dedicated his professional life to helping injured people. Jim is ranked AV by Martindale Hubble, the highest ranking that can be given to a Practicing Attorney.
From his Presidency of the Student Bar Association in law school to his legal practice to his current elected positions, Jim has always sought to speak up for his community. Jim is the past mayor of the Borough of Millvale, Pennsylvania from 1994 to 2005; past chairman of the Allegheny County Democratic Committee; current Allegheny County Council Member since 2006; and current Chair of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
Jim was named Mayor of the Year in 1997 by the Pennsylvania State Mayor’s Association; was honored as one of Pennsylvania’s Top 50 political Influences by Politics PA in 2010. He has appeared on local and national radio and television to comment on a variety of legal and political issues affecting his clients and constituents.
