Burns, Scott N.

David D. Burkhead maintains a civil litigation practice with an emphasis on defending long term care and assisted living facilities. Mr. Burkhead also has experience in trying commercial litigation and personal injury cases and has represented clients before Federal and State Courts of Appeals.

Mr. Burkhead received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law, where he served as an articles editor on the Kansas Law Review.

Mr. Burkhead is licensed to practice law before all of the Federal and State Courts of Kansas and Missouri. He is a member of the Missouri, Johnson County and Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Associations, where he is currently the Vice Chair of the Nursing Home Negligence Committee. Mr. Burkhead is also an active member of the Defense Research Institute.
