Burns, Joseph B.

Attorney Corey A. Burns earned his J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2002.  He began practicing in the Dawson County Attorney's Office in Lexington, NE as a deputy county attorney in April of 2003, where he prosecuted criminal cases for the state.  In September of 2004, he moved to the Dawson County Public Defender's Office, where he served as the deputy public defender while having a small private practice on the side.  As a public defender, Corey represented clients charged with offenses ranging from disturbing the peace and DUI to first degree murder.  At the same time, his private practice consisted primarily of private criminal cases, juvenile court appointments and family law.  Corey left the Dawson County Public Defender's Office in November of 2011 to open the Lexington Office of Glen D. Witte, P.C., LLO.  He now focuses his time on criminal law (including DUI defense) and family mediation.
