Robin E. Burgess is a Shareholder and Director of the Firm, as well as an Officer (Treasurer) serving on the Firm’s Executive Committee.  Ms. Burgess tries cases in state and federal court and has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV® Preeminent™ rating.   She is a litigator and appellate attorney, practicing primarily in the areas of health law, professional liability, municipal liability, products liability, transportation, trucking and civil litigation.  Ms. Burgess represents physicians, therapists and other professionals in malpractice matters, as well as before their respective licensing boards.  She represents cities and counties in cases involving personal injury, malpractice and in cases alleging constitutional violations.
 
Ms. Burgess earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a member of the Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College, cum laude, where she was also recognized as a Wellesley Scholar and awarded the Polk Award for excellence in writing.  She is licensed to practice in the states of Arizona and Virginia, and before the U.S. District Court, District of Arizona, 1993; U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit, 1991; U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, 1991; U. S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, 1991; and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. 

Before joining Sanders & Parks, Ms. Burgess was an attorney in Washington, D.C. where she specialized in health care and corporate transactional practice.  She then spent a year as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Susan A. Ehrlich of the Arizona Court of Appeals, District One.

Ms. Burgess is a member of the Arizona and Virginia Bar Associations, the Arizona Women Lawyers Association, and was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel, and has been a member of the American Inns of Court and Legal Services Committee of the Arizona State Bar.  She has also served on the Board of Directors for Chrysalis.
