Tony Bruning is a trial lawyer. Tony was born and raised in St. Louis. In high school Tony was a member of the football, swimming and track teams. Tony went to Mizzou for undergrad and then on to SLU for law school. While in law school Tony worked as a law clerk for a St. Louis law firm.
Since beginning law practice in 1980, Tony Bruning has been a trial lawyer. Tony has tried numerous personal injury and wrongful death cases in the St. Louis region involving, fires and explosions, medical malpractice, products liability and motor vehicle accidents. Tony has tried well over 100 jury trials. Tony's largest verdict was a $50,000,000.00 damage award against a smoke detector manufacturer arising out of the deaths of two children in 1999.
Tony Bruning currently handles fire, explosion and product failure cases from the investigative stage through trial. In 1989, Tony was named ‘Man of The year’ by the National Association of Fire Investigators for his work in Klein v. General Electric, a case which resulted in the recall of 7 million dangerous coffee makers. Tony is a national certified fire and explosion investigator and speaks regularly at National Fire and Explosion seminars on the topic of fire and explosion litigation. Tony is the author of “Jury Trial Focus Groups-A Guide for Trial lawyers.” Published in 1994.
Tony and his wife Cindy have 4 children, including, two lawyers and two daughters-in-law who are lawyers. Tony has coached youth football and baseball. Tony's interests include anything outdoors, fishing, sports, astronomy and painting.
