During her ten years as a litigator, Jessica has tried and litigated numerous cases, including trials in State and Federal Courts, and has conducted hundreds of hearings before Administrative Law Judges, where she regularly cross-examines vocational and medical experts hired by the Federal government. She has successfully defended clients at all levels of the process, including Felony sex offense cases, registry requirements, Driving under the Influence charges (both felony and misdemeanor), and numerous other offenses. Her practice is primarily dedicated to disability law, criminal defense, and personal injury cases.Having worked as a research assistant at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston for several years prior to her career as an attorney, she maintains an avid interest in science, mental and physical conditions, and their connections to human behavior.She has been an Assistant Attorney General for the Attorney General’s office in Alaska, a Mental health Court Attorney for Ada County, and a City Prosecutor prior to coming to private practice. Every case provides an opportunity to educate herself further on medical issues and the law, and she is an advocate for the reform of the justice system to include treatment alternatives as opposed to incarceration.
