Jonathan Bruce, JD, PhD, is a versatile lawyer offering unparallelled excellence in immigration and immigration law.  His background as a two-time Peace Corps volunteer and fluency in several languages, along with his teaching experience in Europe, makes him uniquely qualified to assist clients with Immigration matters, including business visas, naturalization and removal.  In the area of immigration law, he accepts cases locally (throughout northern Kentucky and southwestern Ohio, including Cincinnati and West Chester), nationally and internationally.  Immigration practice areas include nationality and naturalization issues, immigrant and nonimmigrant visas, green cards/permanent residency, residence/work permits, adjustment of immigration status, family-based petitions, asylum, removal defense, cancellation and withholding of removal, U visas and post-conviction advocacy including appeals and Padilla petitions.  Bruce has represented foreign clients in U.S. courts, foreign embassies and consulates and U.S. governmental agencies, including the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, etc.

As a former felony prosecutor and public defender with hundreds of criminal cases behind him, Jonathan Bruce has the experience needed to effectively represent those facing criminal charges in federal and state trial and appellate courts.  More particularly, his criminal practice areas include drug crimes, arson, probation violations, sex crimes, financial and white collar crimes, identity theft and possession of forged instruments, assault and battery charges, appeals, post-conviction work collateral attacks and padilla petitions.

In addition to his law degree, Bruce has a master’s degree in English from the University of California at Berkeley and a doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Sofia, Bulgaria, where Bruce served as a Peace Corps volunteer.  Bruce now lectures in U.S. law at foreign universities in Moldova and Ukraine.

Having served overseas both in the U.S. Army and the Peace Corps, he is dedicated to service and volunteership in a variety of professional and pro bono activities, including lecturing in foreign law schools.  He has appeared in a variety of media outlets for his legal work and his well-reviewed legal thriller “The Deerslayer Spiral”, including the “American Heroes” radio program, Military Writers, the Toronto Jewish Tribune, etc.
