Practice Summary
For more than 30 years, Mr. Brown has devoted his entire his professional practice to litigation, primarily on behalf of plaintiffs. He has been lead trial counsel in over 200 jury trials, and his trial practice has included successful representation of:
- Nine Sealtest dairy products distributors in 9-week trial of an antitrust claim against Kraft, Inc., resulting in a $4.3 million dollar jury verdict for plaintiffs;
- Book publisher in trial of insurance claim against AON Risk Management arising from flood which destroyed inventory of text books, resulting in $280,000 jury verdict for plaintiff;
- Realtor in an antitrust/unfair trade practice claim against board of realtors for blacklisting;
- Brain-damaged infant in a medical malpractice claim resulting in $2.5 million settlement;
- Commercial tenants in conversion action against landlord, resulting in jury verdict and trebled-damage judgment for $800,000;
- Microfilm processor in unfair trade practice claim for injunction arising from defendant-competitor's use of trade secrets wrongly obtained during buy-sell negotiations;
- Individual employees and groups of employees in claims against employers for sexual harassment and for discrimination on the basis of race, age, gender, sexual preference, disability and religious affiliation and other matters.
In addition to his successful representation at the trial level, Mr. Brown has successfully argued cases in both state and federal appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
