Heath Brooks is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation and Appellate and Supreme Court Practice Groups. He originally joined the firm in 2003, returning in 2006 following a clerkship with the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Practice
Mr. Brooks's current practice focuses on intellectual property litigation. He has represented clients across a broad array of technological fields, including wireless communications, integrated circuits, semiconductors, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. He has successfully represented clients in intellectual property matters at trials in both the Central District of California and Eastern District of Texas, and on appeal at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Mr. Brooks also has extensive experience in financial services litigation. He has represented clients in federal ERISA and state breach of fiduciary duty class action matters, in both federal district court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, as well as a private equity firm in an arbitration dispute involving one of its former partners.
Mr. Brooks has also represented pro bono clients in various appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court and Illinois Supreme Court.
