Clay Britton is an associate in the bankruptcy department. He represents secured and unsecured creditors, debtors, creditors’ committees, landlords and bankruptcy trustees, regularly handling all aspects of complex bankruptcies, workouts, reorganizations, debt restructuring, creditors’ rights and remedies, loan enforcement and restructuring and asset sales and acquisitions.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Britton served as an assistant attorney general with the Office of the Kansas Attorney General. There he prosecuted felonies, including murder, rape, and child abuse, in multiple Kansas counties. He also handled the briefing and argument of numerous appeals in front of both the Kansas Court of Appeals and Kansas Supreme Court, and helped manage Kansas’ participation in amicus curiae briefs filed in the United States Supreme Court. His practice also included representation of wardens in federal habeas litigation in both federal district court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Before finishing law school, Mr. Britton was the finance director for Dennis Moore for Congress 2006 and served as senior constituent liaison for the Office of Governor Kathleen Sebelius.
