Marilyn Matthes Brogan is a partner in the New York office of Frommer Lawrence & Haug LLP. 

Ms. Brogan is accomplished in all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyright, and unfair competition. She specializes in the investigation, acquisition and protection of intellectual property rights and remedies, and the negotiation of agreements and licenses.  Her patent practice involves prosecution, licensing, and due diligence in the chemical and biological areas, while her trademark practice involves all aspects of trademark selection, clearance, prosecution and protection, domestic and international portfolio management, including licensing, opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and litigation in the federal district courts.

Ms. Brogan represents clients in a variety of businesses, including those in the chemical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, mechanical, biotechnological, cosmetics, and consumer goods fields.

Prior to joining the firm in 1998, she worked in the patent and licensing department at a multi-national agrochemical company based in Germany as a patent specialist in the biotechnology area.

Ms. Brogan is a member of the bars of the states of New York and New Hampshire and is a registered patent attorney.  She is also admitted to practice before several United States District Courts.  She is active in numerous professional organizations, including the American Bar Asssociation, Intellectual Property Section, where she is currently vice-chair of the Committee on Franching.  She is also active in the New York Intellectual Property Law Association, where she has chaired numerous committees and where she has served on the Board of Directors.   She is also active in INTA and her participation in this organization includes having served as a judge in the annual Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition.
