Katie was born in Los Angeles, California, where she currently resides. Katie was admitted to the Bar of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in 2009. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California at Berkeley and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, where she graduated with High Honors. While attending Golden Gate, she was a published author and Managing Editor of the Golden Gate Law Review. After law school, Katie worked for the Public Defender of Alameda County representing indigent clients in a variety of misdemeanor cases. Katie's practice at Yoka & Smith is focused on the defense of general negligence, premises liability and products liability matters. She is an active member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Alameda County Bar Association, and the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel.
