Jon Breyer focuses his practice on business litigation matters with a particular emphasis on shareholder, employment and complex business disputes, and securities litigation. Many of these cases involve difficult and fiercely-litigated allegations against employees, officers, directors and shareholders of businesses. Jon represents clients from many different industries in all types of commercial disputes in the courts and before state and federal agencies. He has extensive first-chair trial experience, trying numerous cases to a successful verdict.
Jon has been recognized as a "Rising Star" by Minnesota Law and Politics based on voting by Minnesota "Super Lawyers." He has authored seminar materials, including "Document Creation, Retention and Destruction: Prophylactic Measures to be Careful in a Corporate Environment", Minnesota Institute of Legal Education (2000). He has spoken at law school seminars on the topics of trial tactics and oral argument.
Jon is a graduate of Lehigh University and a 2000 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law. While at law school, he was a finalist in the Rosalie Wahl Moot Court Competition and was selected to represent the school at the National Moot Court Competition. He has served as a law clerk at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, as well as in Hennepin County District Court. Jon is a member of the local, state and federal bar associations and is admitted to Minnesota state and federal courts.
