Mr. Braunstein was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, May 31, 1947. He attended The Louisiana State University where he obtained his B.A. in 1971. Mr. Braunstein continued his education at Tulane University of Louisiana where he obtained his Juris Doctor in 1974. He is a member of the Order of the Coif, Omicron Delta Kappa, honorary fraternity and was Editor in Chief of the Tulane Law Review. He was admitted to the California bar in 1974, Louisiana in 1979 and Ohio in 1993.
Mr. Braunstein and his firm Goldman & Braunstein, LLP, entered into an Of-Counsel relationship with Crabbe, Brown & James in 2004.
Mr. Braunstein's memberships and publications have included: 1972-1973, Editor-in Chief, 1973-1974, Law Review. Author: Eminent Domain and Regulatory Takings "The Sale-Leaseback as a Financing Vehicle," Matthew Bender & Company, 1990; "Mortgageability of Ground and Space Leases, Leaseholds and Ground Leases," Matthew Bender & Company, 1993; "Property Law, Cases and Materials, "West, 2nd ed., 1998; "Powell, Real Property, Fixtures, "Matthew Bender Company, 2000. He is currently writing a treatise on Eminent Domain and Regulatory Takings in Ohio. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. Mr. Braunstein is the author (with others) in Property Law cases and materials published by West Publishing Company and contributed to the Ohio law section to the American Bar Association's litigation section on the Law of Eminent Domain. Mr. Braunstein is a frequent lecturer on eminent domain law and co-chair of the Ohio Eminent Domain Law course presented annually by CLE International.
Mr. Braunstein and his partner, Mr. Goldman's, clients were awarded the highest jury verdict in central Ohio in both 2007 and 2008 (Business First Book of Lists).
