John W. Branch concentrates his practice on the procurement of patent, copyright and trademark rights in the high-tech areas of analog and digital electronics, computer software and hardware, video games, networks, telecommunications, wireless devices and other related technologies.
In addition, Mr. Branch, a registered patent attorney, provides client counseling on technology innovation issues such as patent infringement, validity opinions, licensing, due diligence matters, intellectual property aspects of securities offerings and related litigation.
Mr. Branch's clients include Yahoo!, Spansion LLC, National Semiconductor Corporation, Corbis Corporation, F5 Networks, Inc., Valve Corporation and Widevine Technologies, Inc.
In 2003, 2004 and 2007, Mr. Branch was named Super Lawyer by Washington Law & Politics, a Washington state legal journal. The magazine's Super Lawyers were chosen by a Blue Ribbon Panel from a list of finalists voted on by over 20,000 practicing lawyers. The final list of Super Lawyers represents only 5% of the lawyers licensed to practice in Washington.
Mr. Branch has a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington and his memberships include the Copyright Society, Washington Technology Industry Association, and Washington Lawyers for the Arts.
