I grew up in NW Oklahoma on a farm, was graduated from Buffalo OK High School and attended NW State College in Alva, OK for two year. I was then drafted into the US Army during the final stages of the Korean Police Action but was ordered to West Germany for most of my tour. After discharge from the US Army, I worked in the oil patch and as a serve station attendant for short periods but then returned to college to complete a BS degree. I then accepted an assignment as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the OU Medical offered a Science Professorship at Oklahoma City University and have continued that relationship to date.

In 1975, I was accepted into the night law school program at Oklahoma City University and Completed that degree in the spring of 1979. I was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 1980 for practice before all state, district, administrative, and municipal courts. I was also admitted to practice before the US Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. Initially, I was a part time attorney for the OKC law firm but opened my solo practitioner office in 1985 in south OKC. About a decade later, Philip Hurt, Lisa Connel-Hurtt, and I joined forces and developed a successful practice in south OKC. Lisa Connel-Hurtt voluntarily exited the firm a few year ago and we have since relocated to our current address about two years ago. We have grown from a three lawyers/six employee status of today.

Our firm practice include family law, probate and guardianship law, adoption law, bankruptcy/debtor-creditor law. civil law, and criminal law. About the only area we do not service is securities law.
