John Boyle's practice includes a wide range of complex litigation, including multijurisdictional matters involving consumer fraud, product liability, insurance, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, employment, and ERISA claims. He has defended companies facing federal and state attorney general investigations, legislative and regulatory challenges, and local government issues in several states. John's legislative experience provides clients with novel and effective solutions to both existing and potential litigation.
John's recent representations include defending a manufacturer in investigations and claims raised by 45 state attorneys general and state agencies where John facilitated an expedited investigation and cooperative resolution of all claims. He also obtained a dismissal for developers in a state attorney general claim involving an alleged breach of contract, where he bridged communication gaps between the parties and led the negotiation of a comprehensive settlement. In addition, John defended pharmaceutical manufacturers in multijurisdictional consumer fraud claims brought by several state attorneys general, serving as lead counsel in Pennsylvania.
John has represented Fortune 500 companies in bench and jury trials, arbitrations, and mediations, managing all phases of multijurisdictional discovery, counseling clients on emerging electronic discovery issues, and handling hearings in multiple jurisdictions.
John is a March of Dimes board member, serving on its statewide Government Relations Committee. He has served as a court-appointed special advocate for abused and neglected children and provides pro bono representation for at-risk youth and persons seeking protection from abuse. He also developed the Western District's pro bono ADR program.
