Daniel J. Boyle is the Managing Director of Heuristic Strategies. He has been involved in start- ups and has held senior positions with some of the world’s largest and respected companies, bringing an entrepreneurial perspective with an executive decision making framework. He developed strong technical and analytical skills by working as a sales engineer, Peace Corps Volunteer, international consultant, service and design engineer, energy and environmental planner, project manager, global sales manager, general manager and banker.
Mr. Boyle has performed studies and established operations to increase market share in over 30 countries in Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Outside the United States, he has lived in Colombia (Peace Corps Volunteer working in renewable energy and banking), Saudi Arabia (Power Plant Technical Advisor), Guam (Regional Manager for water and waste water engineering firm), Spain (General Manager for GE power system protection and control plant), Indonesia (Area Technical Manager for GE Power Systems Management covering Asia Pacific), and Taiwan (Director of Business Development for General Dynamics). Within the United States, he has held both individual contributor and management roles for the Square D Company, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, General Electric, Tudor Engineering, Barrett Consulting Group, Brown, Vence and Associates, Potomac Strategies, Inc., Maritime Management Consulting, Willow Creek Partners, Zazi Forum, Bank of America, and Solar Power, Inc. Throughout these roles, he was recognized for contributions to sales growth and improvements to the bottom line, using the tools and techniques which are now integral to Heuristic Strategies, LLC. His curiosity and drive to understand the world and solve problems to improve situations led to extracurricular volunteer service in various capacities and a life of continuous adult education and learning.
Mr. Boyle earned his first degree in 1977 from the University of Delaware—a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering administration, which combines energy engineering with a complete business curriculum. He returned 20 years later to earn a Master’s in economics in 1997 with a focus on international finance, regulatory economics and industrial organization. Following executive stints in Indonesia and Taiwan for General Electric and General Dynamics, he went on to earn a J.D. with distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in December 2008. In between these degrees, he took courses and attended seminars in electrical engineering, product development strategies, six sigma techniques, Mergers & Acquisitions, business banking, Spanish, Indonesian, Mandarin. He has published numerous papers on diverse topics. Beyond his background in technology, management, global marketing and sales, finance, economics, and law, Mr. Boyle has the temperament to listen and creatively mentor your team to help you achieve your goals.
