Mr. Boyd litigates complex civil and commercial lawsuits at the trial and appellate level, in addition to counseling employers regarding traditional labor and employment issues. He possesses trial experience in state and federal courts spanning multiple practice areas and jurisdictions, including Texas and Louisiana. For example, he successfully represented hotels and a major hospital in a series of multi-party products liability, construction defect and insurance coverage cases. Recently, Mr. Boyd successfully tried a zoning lawsuit in St. Tammany Parish on behalf of the Concerned Citizens of Lacombe, effectively overturning a portion of the Unified Development Code on Constitutional grounds. Further, Mr. Boyd effectively stewarded employers through difficult personnel challenges, including, but not limited to, defending against sexual harassment complaints and lawsuits, unfair labor practice charges, employment discrimination charges and lawsuits, Fair Labor Standards Act violations and employee termination issues. Also, Mr. Boyd frequently serves as a lecturer for major continuing legal education providers including Lorman Education Services, national trade groups and other entities.
