Bottoni, Scott J.

Maria Bourn has worked to achieve results for clients that have been harassed, wrongfully terminated, discriminated against or suffered in a hostile work environment based on sex, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation or race. Her desire to advocate for people in and out of the workplace started at a young age. Her brother was born disabled and Maria took on the responsibility to assure that he would receive equal and fair treatment. Before Maria was an attorney she worked for the United States Forest Service as a Wildland Firefighter, including working on a Hotshot crew.

Maria received a full Scholar’s Scholarship to Oregon State University and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science. At Oregon State University she was awarded the Outstanding Graduate of the year in recognition of her volunteer and academic accomplishments. She was also on the President’s and Dean’s list and elected as a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society among many other honors. Her volunteer work at Oregon State University included starting a community garden that donated over five-hundred pounds of fresh produce to food banks. Maria graduated in the top 1% of her undergraduate class and in the top 10% of her law school class.

During law school she was accepted into two of the schools prestigious clinics. While in the clinics she represented clients with housing and criminal issues. Since graduating law school she has devoted herself to representing employees that have suffered from employment discrimination.

Maria is currently a member of the California Employment Lawyers Association and California Bar.
