Booth, Edwin Stuart

Doug Boone is a partner with the law firm of Gilchrist Sumrall Yoder & Boone, PLLC, located in Laurel, Mississippi. Doug was born in Jackson, Mississippi on March 30, 1951. In college Doug had the privilege and honor of conducting a portion of his undergraduate work at University College in Oxford, England. In 1973, Doug earned his undergraduate degree from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1976 Doug obtained his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law. While in law school Doug served as a member of the Moot Court Board.

After graduating from law school Doug was selected to serve as a law clerk for the late Chief Justice Robert G. Gillespie of the Mississippi Supreme Court.

Upon completion of his clerkship with the Mississippi Supreme Court, Doug entered the private practice of law. Throughout the years of practicing law, Doug has handled and tried several hundred workers compensation lawsuits, and today Doug represents several of Mississippi's largest corporations in the area of workers compensation defense. Doug focuses his practice in the areas of workers compensation defense, oil and gas, and business defense litigation.

Doug is a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the Jones County Bar Association and the Mississippi Oil and Gas Lawyers Association. Doug is married to Allyn Clark Boone and he is an avid cyclist.
