Shawn L. Birken is a Found­ing Part­ner of Rosen­feldt & Birken, P.A. and prac­tices in the areas of Appel­late Prac­tice, Labor and Employ­ment, Intel­lec­tual Prop­erty, and Com­mer­cial Lit­i­ga­tion. His prac­tice con­cen­trates in the areas of Labor & Employ­ment Law and Intel­lec­tual Prop­erty. Mr. Birken has suc­cess­fully obtained relief for plain­tiffs and defen­dants in Civil Rights and Employ­ment Prac­tices cases, as well as Intel­lec­tual Prop­erty cases, in the United States Dis­trict Courts, Dis­trict Court of Appeals, and in the Florida Cir­cuit and County Courts.

After grad­u­at­ing from law school in 1999, Mr. Birken held a Judi­cial Clerk­ship with the Hon­or­able United States Dis­trict Court Judge William P. Dim­itrouleas until August of 2001. Dur­ing his career Mr. Birken has engaged in employ­ment and civil rights lit­i­ga­tion, pro­tec­tion of intel­lec­tual prop­erty rights and gen­eral civil lit­i­ga­tion. Mr. Birken was the chair of the intel­lec­tual prop­erty divi­sion at his pre­vi­ous firm from 2005 through 2007.
