Edward C. Bertucio is a partner and specializes in Criminal Defense, and Discrimination cases. He has been designated by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney and exclusively devotes his practice to criminal and civil litigation.
In his capacity as a criminal trial lawyer, Mr. Bertucio represents those under federal or state investigation, those charged with crimes such as homicide, sexual assault, aggravated assault, robbery, drug distribution, fraud, white-collar crime, and law enforcement officers accused of official misconduct and related offenses.
Mr. Bertucio served as a Senior Assistant Prosecutor in the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office in Trenton from 1984 to 1995, where he was Chief of the Environmental Crimes Unit, Economic Crimes Unit, Rape and Child Abuse Unit, and Career Criminal Unit. He was also a senior trial attorney in the Homicide Unit and a member of the Special Investigations Unit, investigating major drug distribution networks. Prior to that, he was a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Lawrence Weiss, J.S.C., Union County Court House, Elizabeth, New Jersey.
In 1995, Mr. Bertucio received an LLM, with Highest Honors, in Trial Advocacy from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia, where he has served as an Adjunct Faculty Member. He graduated from Rutgers University School of Law, Camden, NJ, with a Juris Doctor in 1983 Law. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1980.
Mr. Bertucio is a member of the following bars: State of New Jersey; New Jersey District Court; Court of Appeals, Third Circuit; United States Supreme Court; Colorado (inactive).
