After more than half a century of dedication to the profession, William ("Bill") Benson continues to be an asset to the firm of Benson, Mucci & Weiss. With over 30 years as an active trial lawyer representing contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, Bill is uniquely experienced in all aspects construction litigation, as well as contract analysis, negotiation and preparation. Bill obtained his law degree from University of Florida. While at UF, Bill was captain of the debate team, which helped fuel his passion for the legal profession. Bill is currently admitted to the Florida Bar, the 11th Judicial Circuit, the U.S. District Court for South Florida, and the United States Supreme Court. In 2006, Bill also received his certification from the Florida Supreme Court as a circuit civil mediator, and was recognized by the Florida Bar for 50 years of membership.
As part of his dedication to the area of construction law, Bill co-founded and served several years as General Counsel for the American Subcontractors Association of South Florida. He is a past member of the Florida Bar Construction law Committee, and served as chair of the Dade County Grievance Committee. Sharing his extensive knowledge with the community, Bill has presented countless seminars on construction law related issues for the Florida Bar, the American Subcontractors Association, and the Lumbermens Credit Association.
