At The Law Office of Charles Belmer, Jr., we provide a wide range of legal services for businesses, LLPs, LLCs and individual clients in Salem and throughout the North Shore. We provide sound legal advice, aggressive representation, and client focused service. We work hard to give every client the personal attention to which they are entitled. We have been in practice since 1977.
We represent business clients in a variety of legal matters, from choosing the most appropriate form of incorporation to drafting and filing articles of incorporation and partnership agreements, Limited Liability Companies, and Limited Liability Partnerships. We also help in the purchase and sale of businesses. Once the business is established, we continue to represent our business clients in matters involving developing and executing contracts, assisting with the collection of outstanding accounts, and negotiating and litigating disputes that arise under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and other business issues.
For our individual and family clients we assist with estate planning, real estate transactions, and civil disputes, which may be resolved through alternative dispute resolution, such as arbitration, conciliation, and mediation.
Our comprehensive estate planning practice provides our clients with wills; trusts, including specialized trusts like special needs trusts; and administering trusts. Having a solid estate plan will ensure that your property is protected from over-taxation, prevent family disputes and court intervention, distribute your assets according to your wishes, and most of all make sure that your family is provided for.
We provide transactional services in real estate. If you are planning on buying, selling, or refinancing a home mortgage, we will see that you enjoy a smooth and accurate transaction, while employing estate planning techniques to help you protect your investment.
We frequently are appointed by the Probate and Family Courts and Superior Courts to serve as guardian ad litem, conciliator, receiver, mediator, master or other roles. We meet the applicable rules of the Court to serve as a conciliator or mediator, including training in this aspect of the law of alternate dispute resolution.
We also have extensive experience representing clients that are suffering from personal injuries. We understand the difficult legal roadblocks to recovery. You may be facing mounting medical expenses, lost wages, a painful physical recovery, permanent injuries, loss of a relative or the loss of many of life’s pleasures. You are entitled to compensation for these things. We work hard to see that the insurance companies treat you fairly, and when necessary we will bring our considerable litigation experience to court to see that our clients make a full recovery. We litigate in all state and federal courts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as in all the state courts in Maine.
We represent clients in Essex, Middlesex, Suffolk, and Norfolk, counties, including Salem, Marblehead, Danvers, Hamilton, Beverly, and Gloucester in Essex counties. We litigate in all state and federal courts in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as in all the state courts in Maine.
Charles M. Belmer, Jr. also sits on the hearing panels of the Board of Bar Overseers to hear and determine ethical complaints against other lawyers. He has done this since 2007.
As a general practice, we strive to accommodate any legal need that may arise for our clients. If you have questions or would like to schedule a consultation with a lawyer, please do not hesitate to contact us anytime.
