Nicole Bellina began her career at the Prisoners' Rights Project in NYC. She worked with inmates at Riker's Island protecting their right to proper medical care and other basic needs. Ms. Bellina also assisted inmates with legal action when assaulted by other inmates or guards.
Ms. Bellina then joined the Criminal Defense Division of the Legal Aid Society. For more than six years she successfully handled criminal cases including DWI, domestic violence, assault, robbery, sexual abuse, rape and attempted murder. Ms. Bellina represented hundreds of clients not only from their arrest through trial but also in school board hearings, DMV hearings, grand jury proceedings, and precinct line ups.
Ms. Bellina knew when she started at Fordham Law School that she wanted to be a criminal defense lawyer. More than 10 years have passed and she has become a respected trial lawyer in both state and federal court, handling petty offenses and high level felonies.
