Heather is a result-oriented attorney that has been practicing family law exclusively for almost ten years. She launched Grosse Pointe Law Center in April, 2012. Prior to GPLC, Heather was managing owner of Bendure & King, PLLC, a family law firm. She has been trained in collaborative law and has extensive mediation, arbitration, and negotiation experience. She's also comfortable in the courtroom - trying cases that can't settle and filing the necessary motions to put her clients in the best possible position. Before she founded her own firms, Heather was senior trial attorney at a local civil rights firm. She has also served as senior staff attorney at the Women's Justice Center, providing legal services to domestic violence survivors.
Heather's experience and backround in psychology enables her to understand more than just the legal ramifications of family law cases. She majored in psychology at Michigan State University and graduated with honors. To help her better understand the psychology of divorce, Heather enrolled herself as a fellow in the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
Heather has been admitted to practice law in the United States Supreme Court, Michigan State Courts, and the Federeal District Courts for both the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.
