Joseph Bellanca specializes in entertainment law and has been involved in the entertainment industry for over 10 years. Upon his graduation from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, Mr. Bellanca was named General Manager of Freedom Hill Amphitheater in Sterling Heights, Michigan, a position he held for three years and during which he was responsible for securing and negotiating performances with iconic musicians including but not limited to BB King, Al Green, Don Henley, Muse, Steve Miller Band and Foreigner. In 2010, Mr. Bellanca opened Bellanca & Associates, where he represented clients in entertainment, intellectual property and corporate matters including record labels, artists, theaters, producers, booking agencies, music festival production companies, live event promoters, publicists and marketing firms.
Mr. Bellanca is extremely active in the entertainment community and is a partner in the artist management and event production company, Grand Circus Media. In addition, Mr. Bellanca is a member of the Detroit Music Awards Foundation Executive Board, Secretary of the Macomb County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section and is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (Grammy Awards), Country Music Association, State Bar of Michigan: Arts Communication Entertainment and Sports Section, American Bar Association Forum on Sports and Entertainment, Oakland County Bar Association, Italian American Bar Association of Michigan.
Mr. Bellanca earned his Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University in 2003 and received his Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2008, where he was a member of the Dean’s List and achieved certificates of merit in Entertainment Law and Trial Skills courses. Mr. Bellanca is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is admitted to appear before the United States Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
