Ms. Baumgartner's practice emphasizes business planning and formation, commercial transactions, including acquisitions and mergers, commercial real estate leasing and financing, estate planning, and probate and estate administration. Ms. Baumgartner graduated from Duke University and the University of Richmond School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Baumgartner served as a teaching assistant to Adjunct Professor James B. Comey, Jr., who was later appointed to the position of United States Deputy Attorney General during the administration of President George W. Bush. She also worked as a research assistant to Professor Rodney A. Smolla in preparing his casebook on the First Amendment for publication.
Ms. Baumgartner is licensed to practice in all courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Virginia Women Attorneys Association, and Fairfax Bar Association, where she previously served as Co-Chair of its Wills, Trusts and Estates Section and is currently involved with its Business Law and Corporate Counsel Section.
Ms. Baumgartner has been named in Super Lawyers as a Virginia (2012 & 2013) and Washington D.C. (2013) "Rising Star" in the practice area of estate planning and probate. No more than 2.5% of attorneys in Virginia and Washington D.C. receive this honor.
Ms. Baumgartner was born in Ventura, California, and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. She and her husband currently reside in West Springfield, Virginia.
